The grants for Round 25 were awarded in November of 2014. Ten grants totaling $7,341.87 were awarded to enhance learning experiences for Merrillville students in the areas of health, writing, math, reading, history and social skills.

At the August 19, 2014, Merrillville Board of School Trustees meeting, the Merrillville Education Foundation presented a check to Merrillville Schools in the amount of $33,479.75. These funds were used for teacher grants and school programs.
Mr. Woods, Vice President of the Merrillville Education Foundation, stated that since its inception in 2002, the Merrillville Education Foundation has awarded 217 teacher grants totaling $216,261.33 to the Merrillville Schools.
Dr. Sperling, Superintendent of Merrillville Schools, expressed his appreciation, noting that he looks forward to continued their partnership to benefit the Merrillville students.

The Merrillville Education Foundation received a $10,000 grant from the Dean and Barbara White Foundation to support our mission of being the primary philanthropic organization that funds innovative educational grants to teachers in the Merrillville Schools.
This grant and other funding sources will provide opportunities that enhance student learning and achievement, promote social and emotional development of our students, and contribute to a strong community through a belief that education is key. We thank them for their support and for being a major partner in our mission.
The Merrillville Education Foundation has also been awarded a grant of $5000.00 from the John W. Anderson Foundation to support our goals to provide opportunities that enhance student learning and achievement. This grant and other funding sources will continue to be a great support to our community and we thank their Foundation for being a major partner in our mission.
